Sea Glass Cottage is a three bedroomed cottage over-looking the dunes of Allonby, just yards from the beach. Tastefully furnished for comfort and coziness, it’s the perfect place to relax.

Ground Floor

A double-glazed K glass conservatory stretches across the entire frontage, allowing you to feel as though you are outdoors all day but keeping the sea breezes at bay. On warm days, however, double sliding doors push back to allow the outside right in.

The lounge/dining room has a log-burning stove and comfortable seating for five.

The kitchen is spacious. Off the kitchen is a rear lobby, the ideal place to leave damp coats and boots and to towel off the dogs. There is also a loo.

This is a quiet room at the rear of the first floor.

Outdoors

The cottage has uninterrupted views of the dunes, the Solway and Criffle (on the Scottish side of the Solway). On some days, the Isle of Man is also visible.

There is immediate access (across a gravel track and a pleasant green) to the beach.

A Word About Waste

The drains behind the cottage are 200 years old (like the cottage itself) and were designed only for human effluent and toilet tissue. They cannot cope with STs or panty liners, wipes of any description, even those which say they are flushable, nappies or condoms. All these items should be bagged and binned (we provide biodegradable bags) or they will re-emerge in the passageway behind the cottage, to everyone’s embarrassment and displeasure.

We are in to recycling in a big way. We appreciate that recycling varies around the country. Please consult the list on the noticeboard to see what Allerdale’s rules are, and use the right bin for the right thing.
